…after many years of managing change through projects and programmes I couldn’t work out why people didn’t really think about risk and what to do about it, but rather resorted to a ‘tick the box’ approach to following the mandated risk process. Why was it that the most natural of human skills – to perceive things that might take us towards or away from our objectives and act to make what we want happen – seemed lost when groups of people started thinking about risk?
